Every father makes sacrifices for his child. Craig Daliessio's sacrifice was homelessness.
Caught in the economic collapse of 2008, Craig lost his career and his home. But he refused to lose his fatherhood. His daughter was in a dangerous situation because of her mom's new husband, and Craig refused to leave her without his protection.
The only way he could remain active in her life, and give her the safety that a dad provides, was to live in his car as he worked tirelessly to rebuild his life. Craig made this choice willingly and it began a six year journey through the darkest days of his life. Along the way, he completed his degree, graduating while still homeless. He never missed a birthday or a recital for his daughter. Ultimately, he began a new career and he and Daisy now live in Lynchburg, Va, where he is a Business Relationships Manager for Liberty University, and his daughter is a sophomore...and safe from the nightmare she was enduring.
It's an amazing, inspiring, gripping story of loss, faith, endurance, and the love of a dad for his daughter.
Radio host Dave Ramsey calls this book "Riveting" and says "You will not be able to put it down!"
Nowhere To Lay My Head The True Story of a Homeless Dad edition by Craig Daliessio Religion Spirituality eBooks
To the Reader: The latter 60% of the book is worth it.I wanted to hear the story. I wanted to get to know the man. I wanted to read his testimony. I wanted to read how God sustained him during the tough times and brought him through to a new beginning. I could overlook the grammatical errors. I could withstand the repetitious telling of several main events. But when page after page made little mention of God, and one entire section was nothing but bitter Obama bashing(*), I said, "Enough!" After reading 130 pages, I put the book down, very disappointed.
Three weeks later, "something" made me pick up the book again. The rest of the book was what I had hoped to find when I bought the book! God was on every page. Now there were Bible references, parallels made, and lessons learned. I finished the book the same day!
To the Author: I "followed the clues" and found this book. The End(*).

Nowhere To Lay My Head The True Story of a Homeless Dad edition by Craig Daliessio Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Absolutely one of the worst books I have ever suffered through. I actually couldn't get it into the trash quickly enough! Ridiculous story full of repetitive whining and excuse making. A perfect example of what any responsible adult should not do. Using his daughter as an excuse to live in a car, work only occasionally, and deciding to pursue a degree in Religious Studies to improve his business career prospects? This guy will be admired by some who fall for these kinds of stories when in reality he would have benefited most from a kick in the backside.
Can't put it down!!!
Well written and touching.
Craig does a wonderful job telling his Story. His difficulties, How he handled them, and his new opportunity that completely turned his life around. Bottom line, Intercessory Prayer from people who care for him absolutely works
This was an incredible book by a homeless man who exemplified his faith in God and endless love for his daughter. Although the writer spent 6 years sleeping in his car, he never gave up on God, nor loose his connection to his daughter. I have personally met Craig and admire him. The story ends well...a must read!!!
I wasn't far into the book, when, as a mother, I found myself in tears wanting to reach out..
Wishing my husband and I had been close enough to have given the author a place to sleep, food to eat...a cup of coffee!
I believe this is a book that tells it like is is for some of the homeless, and certainly tells it like it is for fathers, mothers, separated by divorce..whose upmost concern is for their children...and because of their love and faith never give up, and see that God is there through every heartache, every trial!
Please read.."
The true story behind the book is what intrigued me the most, and once I started reading, I was hooked. It’s unquestionably authentic and transparent, and there is a welcoming feel to the language that really pulls you in. Not gonna lie, if you are like me, you will need to grab your kleenex as it was tough in many places. Not just reading about the hardship this man endured, but realizing it could happen to anyone; the thing made me rethink not only homelessness, but many of the smallest blessings I take for granted daily. Touching, thought-provoking stuff. I would recommend this book is to anyone who has ever struggled through an intense trial that tested their faith and shook them to the core, or to any parent who has ever had to make incredibly tough choices for the sake of their children. My favorite line and repeated theme was, "A father never quits." That is the way it should be — kudos to Craig Daliessio for being one of those "never quit" dads.
